The thagimpu is set to
adi talam = 8 counts
with an internodal space of 8 beats therefore the whole avaratanam/the cycle will contain 64 beats (8*8)

I have tried to explain the beatwise split of the pattern . Please refer the key posted after the pattern

Well , the fist line of every block (A,B,C,D,E)contains the beat count , the second line explains the swaras/counts allocated to each beat or a set of beats .I was thrilled to the bones when my teacher taught me this math.

If you are really interested i cud send you the same in an excel sheet ..

(A)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 -- represents eight beats
4 9 * 5 -1 1+5*3 -- first time

(B)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 --2time
b 5 9*4-1 1+5*3 --2time

(C)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 --3time
b b 6 9*3-1 1+5*3 -- 3time

(D)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 --4time
b b b 7 (9*2)-1 1+(5*3) --4time

(E)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 --5time
b b b b 8 (9*1)-1 1+(5*3) --5time

key
4(tha ka thi mi)
5(tha ka tha ki ta)
6( tha thi-ing gina thom)
7(tha ka thi mi tha ki ta)
8(tha ka thi mi tha ka thi mi)
9(tha ka thi mi tha ka tha ki )
5*3 (tha;; thi;; tha;; thi;;tha;;)
b= blank

therefore the total for each block will be
A 64=4+45+15
B 56=5+36+15
C 48=6+27+15
D 40=7+18+15
E 32= 8+9+15

Where did you hear this Sankeerna Thagimpu? Can get the structure, but I guess not many would attempt it nowadays. Btw, Nedunuri without accompaniment-where did you get that. His music is nice - sans frills. And Thodi is one of my all time favourites:) Flying Circus of Physics is a good book as well:)
